Application for the designation of a neighbourhood plan area by Shipston-on-Stour Town Council

Notice is given that Stratford-on-Avon District Council has received from the Shipston-on-Stour Town Council an application under Part 2, Regulation 5 of The Neighbouring Planning (General) Regulations 2012, to designate the area comprising the civil parish of Shipston-on-Stour as a neighbourhood within the meaning of section of Section 61G of 1990 Act (see explanatory note below).

A copy of the application and a map can be viewed on the Council website at:
www.stratford.gov.uk/nplan
or at Stratford-on-Avon District Councilís offices, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Stratford-upon-Avon and Shipston-on-Stour libraries during normal opening hours.

Representations on whether the civil parish of Shipston-on-Stour is deemed an appropriate area may be made to the Council no later than 5pm on Friday 22nd February 2013. They may be made either online, using the link above, by emailing planning.policy@stratford-dc.gov.uk or by writing to Policy Team, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX

Explanatory Note
Following the introduction of the Localism Act 2011, the purpose of designating a Neighbourhood Area is for a Neighbourhood Plan to then be prepared for that area. The Shipston-on-Stour Town Council is currently preparing a neighbourhood plan and this application now seeks to formalise the process.
