The business is only a few months old and already has a number of gins and their very own whisky under their belt. Their flagship is the Cotswolds Dry Gin and plans are well in hand to produce more contemporary style gins, brandies and eaux de vies in the coming months. Owner Dan Tzor who originates from New York, fell in love with the Cotswolds and decided to escape the stress of city life in London and forge a new career whilst at the same time seeking a more relaxed, rural lifestyle for himself and his family. He has certainly achieved this, with their amazing location on the outskirts of the village of Stourton. We are delighted that Dan and his team will be hosting our Christmas event. They will give us a tour of the distillery, explain all about the craft of creating fine spirits and we\'ll have the opportunity to see their fantastic bespoke distillation equipment in action. We will also get a chance to taste their wares, with a gin tasting. Please join us for this interesting and, no doubt, educational visit to a brand new business right on our doorstep! And afterwards..... Once the Distillery activities are over we will head back to Shipston to round off the evening with festive drinks and a buffet at The Horseshoe, 6 Church Street, Shipston, CV36 4AP. The cost for the evening will be £10 for members and £15 for non-members and guests, to include the tour and tasting. If you would like to attend, please confirm as soon as possible by emailing info@stourunitedbusinesses.co.uk or contact a member of the committee. More than 3,000 jobs and 700 businesses are expected to be created nationally by the £15m project to support rural businesses and boost the rural economy, announced by environment secretary Caroline Spelman. A pilot Rural Growth Network will be established in Coventry and Warwickshire with a innovation and technology centre development established at Stoneleigh. There will also be enterprise centres at Shipston-on-Stour and Atherstone to offer \\\"rural-friendly\\\" enterprise support. The Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) bid was led by Warwickshire County Council, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Agricultural Society for England (RASE). It will enable the showcasing of low-carbon and environmental technologies to encourage their adoption by rural businesses. As part of the pilot Rural Growth Network, particular emphasis will also be placed on overcoming barriers to enterprise frequently faced by women-led rural businesses, the LEP said. \\\"This is a real recognition by the government that businesses in rural areas do face some barriers to enterprise and growth that this work will seek to tackle,\\\" said Louise Bennett, chief executive of the chamber and author of the bid. \\\"The focus of the Warwickshire Rural Growth Network will be to make accessible to rural enterprises good quality enterprise support whilst linking many of our rural businesses to the developing low-carbon and environmental technologies that sit within our great universities.\\\" RASE chief executive Denis Chamberlain added: \\\"I am delighted to hear that the government is supportive of some exciting new developments at Stoneleigh Park, including the creation of a new innovation and technology centre linked to a number of smaller enterprise centres. \\\"Stoneleigh Park sits at the heart of the UK\\\'s rural and agricultural sector and this announcement is just one part of a much wider programme of development at Stoneleigh, which already houses more than 60 businesses and continues to host some large-scale agricultural and other events.\\\" Caroline Spelman added: \\\"Our £15m investment will create thousands of new jobs and hundreds of new businesses, boosting the rural economy and supporting thriving local communities. Altogether we\\\'re spending £165m to support economic growth in rural England, and shows once again that we are firmly on the side of rural communities.\\\" http://www.subs.org.uk/subs-members-meeting_a_103.html SUBs Members Meeting http://www.subs.org.uk/subs-members-meeting_a_103.html http://www.subs.org.uk/new-training-and-development-courses-for-stour-businesses_a_101.html NEW TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT COURSES FOR STOUR BUSINESSES http://www.subs.org.uk/new-training-and-development-courses-for-stour-businesses_a_101.html http://www.subs.org.uk/stour-valley-business-fair-2012_a_100.html STOUR VALLEY BUSINESS FAIR 2012 http://www.subs.org.uk/stour-valley-business-fair-2012_a_100.html http://www.subs.org.uk/the-really-good-coffee-club_a_99.html THE REALLY GOOD COFFEE CLUB http://www.subs.org.uk/the-really-good-coffee-club_a_99.html http://www.subs.org.uk/tv-architectural-designer-to-tell-shipston-how-to-really-go-gre_a_98.html TV Architectural Designer to tell Shipston "How to really go Gre http://www.subs.org.uk/tv-architectural-designer-to-tell-shipston-how-to-really-go-gre_a_98.html TV Architectural Designer to tell Shipston \"How to really go Green\" \"See through the spin to really go green\" That will be the message that TV architectural designer Charlie Luxton will be giving at the Energy Fair in Shipston on Wednesday 21 March. Funding for the programme of community energy fairs has come from the Governments Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF), which is distributed by the Department for Energy and Climate Change. In addition to the support for the energy fairs, Act on Energy is also using LEAF money to pay for the setting up of a specialised website which will provide information to owners of older homes, for energy audits of community buildings in the district including the Townsend Hall, for the creation of a series of case studies of energy efficiency improvements by local home owners, and for training. Information about these developments will be available at the community energy fairs. http://www.subs.org.uk/stour-valley-business-support-surgery_a_96.html Stour Valley Business Support Surgery http://www.subs.org.uk/stour-valley-business-support-surgery_a_96.html The business support surgery, which is open to all businesses in the Stour Valley, is intended to provide advice and guidance on any issues that your businesses might face - from finance to HR, marketing to International Trade and general business administration to legal matters.
